How it works

From the clothing in your closet to a keepsake in your hands.

The whole process, start to finish. We try to keep it simple so the only decision that takes any real time is choosing what to send.

1. 01

   Design your keepsake

   Head over to the order page and pick what you'd like us to make — a Regular Bear, a Dog Bear, a child's quilt, a pillow. Add any extras you want (a name on the paws, a little weight in the body, scotchguard for everyday handling).

   There's a spot to tell us about the clothing you're sending. Whose it was, what it meant, anything you want us to keep an eye out for. We read every note.

2. 02

   Send us your clothing

   At checkout you can either buy a prepaid shipping label from us, or ship it yourself with the carrier of your choice. Pack the clothing in a poly mailer or small box — no need for anything fancy.

   Clothing, blankets, bandanas, sheets, and woven cotton all work beautifully. Very stretchy knits (think bathing suits or athletic wear) and heavily damaged or fragile items are harder to work with — drop us a note before sending if you're not sure, and we'll help you figure it out.

3. 03

   We hand-craft your bear

   Once your clothing lands at the studio, we sort it, wash what needs washing, and start cutting. Right now, typical turnaround is about 5–7 days from the day your package arrives — that can run longer in busy seasons or for quilts and larger orders, and we'll always email if we expect a meaningful delay.

   Every piece is cut and sewn personally on one table. No factory line, no shortcuts — just a pair of hands and a sewing machine, taking it one step at a time.

4. 04

   Your keepsake arrives

   When your bear is finished, we tuck it into a soft cloth mesh bag, box it up, and ship it out. You'll get a tracking number by email the moment it goes out the door.

   Open the box slowly. A lot of people tell us they cried — that's the work doing what it's supposed to do.
